Konstantin Konstantinovich Arsenyev ( Russian Константин Константинович Арсеньев ; born January 24 . Jul / 5. February  1837 greg. In St. Petersburg ; † 22. March 1919 in Petrograd ) was a Russian liberal publicist , literary scholar and encyclopedist .

Life

From 1866 he worked for the magazine Westnik Jewropy (Вестник Европы, German Messenger of Europe ), in 1909 he became its editor in charge. From 1890 he was one of the editors-in-chief of the encyclopedic dictionary by FA Brockhaus and IA Efron (Энциклопедический Словарь Брокгауза и Ефрона), from 1911 editor-in-chief of the new encyclopedic dictionary ( Нокорикиклопедический Словарь Брокгауза и Ефрона), from 1911 editor-in-chief of the new encyclopedic dictionary . In 1906/07 he was one of the leaders of the newly founded Liberal Party of Democratic Reforms (Партия демократических реформ), which in 1907 became part of the Party of Peaceful Renewal (Партия мирного обновления).

Since 1900, Arsenyev was an honorary member of the Petersburg Academy of Sciences .
