Konstantin Meskouris (born October 16, 1946 in Athens ) is a Greek engineering scientist and university professor .

Life

After obtaining his university entrance qualification in Athens in 1964, Meskouris studied first at the Technical University of Vienna and then at the Technical University of Munich , where he graduated in 1970 as a Dipl.-Ing. completed. Then until 1975 he was a research assistant at the chair for steel construction at the Technical University of Munich. In 1975 he was awarded a Dr.-Ing. In Munich with the work Electronic Vibration Calculation of Flat Frame Structures with Material Damping. PhD. He moved to the Ruhr University in Bochum , where his habilitation took place in 1982 with the thesis Contribution to the earthquake investigation of structural engineering structures . He stayed at the university, took over a professorship at the University of Dortmund in 1989/90 and then became a research group leader in Bochum.

In 1994 he followed a call to the University of Rostock , where he became a university professor and head of the Institute for Structural Analysis and Dynamics . In 1996 he switched to a professorship for structural engineering and building dynamics at RWTH Aachen University , where he remained until his retirement in 2012.

Research priorities

Meskouris' work focuses on computer- oriented statics and dynamics as well as earthquake engineering .
