Konstantin Semjonowitsch Sidenko ( Russian Константин Семёнович Сиденко ; born February 2, 1953 in Khabarovsk ) is a Russian admiral and commander of the Eastern Military District of the Russian Federation. From 2007 to 2010 he was the commander of the Russian Pacific Fleet .

Life

Sidenko graduated from the Pacific Naval War College SO Makarov in 1975 . He began his service in the Pacific Fleet as an officer on watch and commander of the Mine-Torpedo Combat Section (GA-3) of a U-cruiser . He continued his career as first officer (1981-1982), commander of a submarine (1983-1987) and as deputy commander of a submarine division. From 1982 to 1983 he attended special courses for officers in the naval war fleet . After graduating from the Naval War Academy in 1989, he worked until 1992 as deputy commander of the 45th submarine division of the Pacific Fleet. From 1992 to 1994 he studied at the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and then commanded the 45th submarine division, took on the role of chief of staff and first deputy commander of the 2nd submarine flotilla (1996-1998) and then the chief of staff and first Deputy Commander of the 16th Submarine Squadron (1998–1999). Sidenko, promoted to Rear Admiral on May 5, 1995, was employed as Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of the North-East Armed Forces from August 1999 and as their commander from June 2000. In June 2001 he was promoted to Vice Admiral. From April 2002 he worked as chief of staff and deputy commander of the Pacific Fleet. From May 2006 he was appointed commander of the Baltic fleet and from December 2007 the commander of the Pacific fleet. In June 2010 he was promoted to admiral and in the following month he temporarily assumed the duties of commander of the armed forces of the eastern military district. On October 29, 2010, he was appointed commander of the Eastern Military District by decree of the President of the Russian Federation. On October 9, 2013, he was given age-related retirement.

In December 2011 he ran for the United Russia party in the State Duma elections, obtained the mandate as a result but renounced the acceptance in favor of the MP Elmira Glubokowskaja . In 2014 he became director of the Far Eastern Center for the Handling of Radioactive Waste (DWZ DalRAO ). In 2015, Sidenko was elected chairman of the Vladivostok Maritime Assembly .
