Konstantin Timokhine (* 1973 in Kiev ) is a Swiss horn player .

Life

Konstantin Timokhine is principal horn player at the Basel Chamber Orchestra . He was trained first in the Ukraine , later at the music academies in Geneva with Bruno Schneider and Winterthur with David W. Johnson and obtained two soloist diplomas. Further studies for baroque and natural horn followed with Glen Borling at the Orchestra Academy of the Zurich Opera House . At the age of 17 he made his debut solo on a tour of Japan . He was principal horn player in the Geneva Chamber Orchestra, horn player in the orchestra of the Zurich Opera and principal horn player in the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra . He played concerts with ensembles and orchestras such as Les Musiciens du Louvre under Marc Minkowski and the Ensemble Kanazawa from Japan. He has also worked as a chamber music partner for the Colorado String Quartet, the Yofin Ensemble Zurich and the Quartettone Milano.

Awards

Timokhine received several awards:

  • Konstantin Timokhine won 1st prize at the international horn competition in Minsk.
  • He won first prize at the CNEM competition in Riddes (CH).
