Konstantin Tsakalidis

Konstantin Tsakalidis (* 1966 in Sigmaringen ) is a German director and choreographer .

He made his first experiences as an actor as a teenager on the Waldbühne Sigmaringendorf . Tsakalidis later played and staged at the Stadttheater Konstanz , the Staatsschauspiel Dresden , the Theater Junge Generation in Dresden, and as part of his training at the Trinity College of Music in London. Since 1992 Tsakalidis has been developing choreographies for contemporary dance, theater, musicals, film and television.

He also trains the next generation in choreography and gives acting and dance courses.

Works

In 2009 Tsakalidis wrote the text for the musical “The Magic of the Night” and was director and choreographer for this project.

In 2008 he presented a two-hour program in Zug and framed BMW presentations throughout Switzerland as part of the “Galarena Christmas Show” .

With 55 amateur dancers he staged a highly acclaimed performance of the opera Carmen .

Tsakalidis was nominated for the Stuttgart Theater Prize with the piece “Close up”, a dance theater that was performed in the Konstanz cultural center , as was the year before with an adaptation of Schiller's Die Räuber .

In collaboration with the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie he staged the musical West Side Story and performed numerous other musicals such as HAIR, ROCKY HORROR, CATS etc.

In cooperation with Art & Stage, Tsakalidis presented itself with an ensemble in Lisbon at the world premiere of the Mercedes-Benz and realized numerous events for companies.

In the 1990s he directed several dance ensembles in Dresden, including for the Staatsschauspiel and choreographed for film and television.

During his time in London Tsakalidis danced in various ensembles and took part in the movie "Estifan Fish".
