Konstantinos Patavoukas ( Greek Κωνσταντίνος Παταβούκας ; born February 3, 1966 in Athens ) is a former Greek basketball player .

Career

Patavoukas began his career in the youth department of the AO Astir Exarchion association, which is based in the center of Athens. In 1985 he moved to the traditional club AEK Athens , where he signed his first professional contract. In the following 14 years Patavoukas moved several times between AEK and Panathinaikos Athens and even played for one season in Italy with Virtus Bologna in 1996/1997 . Patavouka's most significant success was winning the European Cup in 1996 , when he defeated FC Barcelona 67-66 in the final alongside players like Dominique Wilkins , Panagiotis Giannakis and Fragiskos Alvertis .

National team

Patavoukas made his debut with the Greek national team on May 15, 1985 in a game against Romania in Bucharest . In the game Greece won 81-72, Patavoukas scored two points. Over the following twelve years he was an integral part of this team and achieved fourth place at the 1994 World Cup and the 1993, 1995 and 1997 European Championships. Patavoukas played his last international match on 6th, after 162 games and 871 points. July 1997 at a European Championship game against Russia .
