The office building or office building in the women-Clara-Straße 15 is on the list of cultural monuments in Eckernförde (object ID 7283 of Schleswig-Holstein).

The then mayor Detlef Julius Thamm had the right to live in the building, which was erected in 1737 . In 1756, Mayor Thomas Hinrich Classen moved into the house with his wife, five children and five servants. In 1797 the right of residence for the mayor in Eckernförde was abolished.

From 1803 the merchant and beer brewer Nicolai Grüning lived in the house and was the first to run an inn there . After that, residents and users changed frequently.

In 1859 the Karby grain merchant Detlef Peter Bruhn bought the house and the property, as well as the stable , the coach house , the crockery, the courtyard and the garden with the garden house from the town of Eckernförde. He founded the company DP Bruhn. His son Johann Behrend had the house renovated in 1868 into a stately office and residential building. Inside, for example, wood paneling with elaborate decorations was attached.

From 1992 the building was used as a restaurant again . Today an inn is operated in the rooms.
