Alois Weimer

Alois Weimer (born June 1, 1930 in Waldernbach ; † March 22, 2016 ) was a German teacher and author of numerous non-fiction books, such as travel guides .

Life

Alois Weimer was the son of a farmer in the Westerwald . He attended the Gymnasium Philippinum Weilburg and studied in Frankfurt German .

In May 1955 he married Wilhelmine "Helma" Kuhn from South Moravia , who is also a teacher. From 1958 to 1992 Alois Weimer was a teacher at the Grimmelshausen Gymnasium in Gelnhausen . He completed his habilitation on Augustinian theology in medieval poetry and has meanwhile also taught in Portugal at the German School in Porto and at the philosophical faculty of the Catholic University of Portugal in Braga . The couple's son is the journalist Wolfram Weimer .

Alois Weimer was also a freelancer for the travel paper of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung .
