Koonwarra is a city in the South Gippsland region in the Australian state of Victoria . In 2016, Koonwarra had 404 residents. The city is located on the South Gippsland Highway , about 128 kilometers southeast of Melbourne. From the 1890s to 1991 the place was connected to the railway network; then the railroad to Barry Beach was closed.
