The Korea Bay , also West Korea Bay ( Chinese 朝鮮 灣 / 朝鲜 湾 , Pinyin Cháoxiǎn Wān ; Kor. 서 조선 만 , Sŏ-josŏn-man ), is a northern branch of the Yellow Sea , between the Chinese province of Liaoning and the North Korean province of P'yŏngan -pukto .
The bay is separated from the Gulf of Bohai in the west by the Liaodong Peninsula, which belongs to the People's Republic of China , and is connected to it by the Bohaistraße , 102 km wide at its narrowest point . The southernmost point of the peninsula, the city of Dalian , is China's northernmost ice-free seaport.
The Yalu flows into the bay between Dandong and Sinuiju , the river is also the border between North Korea and the People's Republic of China.
East Korea Bay is on the opposite side of the Korean Peninsula .
