The Korean Art Gallery ( kor. 조선 미술 박물관) is an art museum in the North Korean capital Pyongyang . The museum opened in August or September 1954.

description

Covering an area of 11,000 over four floors is Korean art from the period of antiquity to the present shown. It is mainly about paintings and sculptures . In total, the building in neoclassical style has 22 exhibition rooms of various sizes. As is common across the country, part of the exhibition is dedicated to Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il . The roof on the street side is decorated with a large replica of the flag of the Korean People's Army .

The building is located on Kim Il-sung Square, next to the History Museum on Sungri Street in the central Chung-guyŏk ( Kyongrim-dong ) district.
