Kormisosh
Khan Kormisosch (also written Kormisosh , Bulgarian Кормисош ) is considered to be the fifth ruler of Bulgaria since the country was recognized in 681 by Eastern Romans (Byzantium) . He belonged to the Bulgarian ruling dynasty of the Wokil and succeeded Khan Sewar on the throne. Kormisosch ruled from 753/754 to 756. According to the Bulgarian list of princes , he usurped the throne from his predecessor.
In 756, the Byzantine Emperor Constantine V defeated the Bulgarian army under Khan Kormisosh near Burdizon, which he renamed Bulgarophygon (today Babaeski ) after the victory . The victory of the Byzantines probably also led to the overthrow of the Bulgarian ruler.
