The Körnbach (also called Kermich in local dialect ) is an approximately three kilometer long tributary of the Zahmer Gera near Geraberg on the northern edge of the Thuringian Forest .

course

Its sources (Clementinenquelle, Schlossquelle and others) are almost 700 meters above sea level on the eastern slope of the Hohe Warte, southwest of Elgersburg . It continues to flow in a northerly direction, past the Elgersburg nature theater and the Goethefelsen . At the point where the Körnbach emerges from the forest, the Gera cycle path joins the valley from the east , which it accompanies to the mouth of the creek. After the stream has crossed the road from Elgersburg to Arlesberg , the Elgersburg sports field follows in its valley. The Körnbach flows between Mönchsheide in the east and Krummer Schlaufe in the west to Geraberg, where it joins the Zahme Gera from the right in the last section and thus invisible at a height of about 430 meters.
