Körnbach is a district of the market town of Eiterfeld in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .

Geographical location

The district of Körnbach is about two and a half kilometers from the main town of Eiterfeld and lies to the west of it in the valley system of the upper Eitra in the Rhön .

history

Körnbach was first mentioned in 1363.

In the run-up to the regional reform in Hesse , a number of voluntary amalgamations of municipalities arose, in which the previously independent municipality of Körnbach also participated. The state government then decided, with effect from February 1, 1971, to merge the communities of Arzell, Betzenrod, Eiterfeld, Großentaft, Körnbach, Soisdorf and Treischfeld in the district of Hünfeld to form a community with the name Eiterfeld .
