Soisdorf is a district of the market town of Eiterfeld in the eastern Hessian district of Fulda .

Geographical location

Soisdorf is located in the far east of the municipality, right on the border with Thuringia . Soisdorf borders in the north on Soislieden and Mansbach , in the east on Wenigentaft , in the south on Grüsselbach and Rasdorf and in the west on Treischfeld and Ufhausen .

history

Soisdorf was first mentioned in 781.

On February 1, 1971 Soisdorf was incorporated into the municipality of Eiterfeld as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

Attractions

The church of St. Bernhard, with the historic military cemetery, is a special attraction in the Fulda district.

The defensive wall was renovated in 2015 and is in good condition.

The village square in Soisdorf, which was newly laid out in 2019, is also particularly worth seeing. The square commemorates the visit of the then Federal President Karl Carstens in Soisdorf in 1981.

In addition, the observation tower on the 631 meter high Soisberg offers a wonderful view of the Fulda and Hersfelder Land as well as the Rhön.

The skittles cycle path near Soisdorf invites you to cycle and linger.
