The Gera cycle path is a 75 km long cycle path along the Gera .
Route profile
From the Schmücke to Geraberg , the cycle path has a steep gradient in places, otherwise the route is quite flat on side roads or paved paths and can be used with luggage in both directions.
Route with sights
The Gera cycle path connects the Rennsteig cycle path with the Unstrut cycle path . The signs show a bicycle over a blue wave with the words “Gera”.
The starting point is in the Thuringian Forest on the Schmücke am Rennsteig . Between Geraberg and Plaue , the A 71 Thuringian Forest Motorway is crossed. Via Arnstadt and Erfurt (transition to the long- distance cycle path Thuringian city chain possible) the cycle path continues to its end in Gebesee an der Unstrut .
