The Thuringian chain of cities long-distance cycle route connects the imaginary connecting line of the six largest cities in Thuringia , known as the Thuringian chain of cities .

Route

The cycle path runs over a length of around 240 kilometers from west to east, between Creuzburg an der Werra on the state border with Hesse and the train station of the Skatstadt Altenburg on the state border with Saxony . The chain of cities between Hörschel and Posterstein is part of the Mittelland Route (D4) .

Route profile

The long-distance cycle path has mostly a fairly flat profile and mostly leads on well-developed asphalt side roads and dirt roads. However, in some sections it is not yet fully developed, and the signposting is still inadequate in places.
