Cycle path church in Häselrieth

The Werra Valley Cycle Path runs along the Werra and connects Thuringia , Hesse and Lower Saxony over a length of 290 km .

The Werra Valley cycle path has been passable since 1997 and is signposted with a uniform symbol. It leads from the two Werra springs in Fehrenbach and Siegmundsburg from around 780  m above sea level. NHN via the cities of Eisfeld , Hildburghausen , Themar , Meiningen , Wasungen , Bad Salzungen , Vacha , Heringen , Gerstungen , Creuzburg , Treffurt , Eschwege , Bad Sooden-Allendorf and Witzenhausen to Hann. Münden , at an altitude of 123  m above sea level. NHN lies. In Hesse, the cycle path is called the Werra cycle path. In Häselrieth , a district of Hildburghausen, there is a cycle path church, St. Wigbert .

Connections with other national cycle routes

• In Hann. Münden is connected to the Weser cycle path , which leads to the North Sea near Bremerhaven .
• Also in Hann. The Fulda cycle path begins in Münden and runs through Fulda to the source at the Wasserkuppe .
• At Witzenhausen there is a connection to the Leine-Heide-Radweg .
• In Frieda there is a connection to Eichsfeld via the Kanonenbahn cycle path .
• In Heldra there is a connection to the Unstrut-Werra cycle path that begins there .
• The Rennsteig cycle path and the Thuringian chain of cities long -distance cycle path connect to Eisenach .
• At Vacha and Philippsthal , the Ulster cycle path connects with the Werra valley cycle path , which leads to the Milseburgrad path. Both are part of the BahnRadweg Hessen .
• The Main-Werra-Radweg , coming from Würzburg in Lower Franconia , meets the Werra-Radweg in Meiningen .
• Also in Meiningen there is a connection to the Meiningen-Haßfurt cycle path , which leads to eastern Lower Franconia and the Main in Haßfurt .
• The Rhön Cycle Path begins in Bad Salzungen and runs for 180 km to Hammelburg in Bavaria.
