Architecture and history

The three-storey half - timbered house was built according to a building inscription in 1732, with the ground floor being built in massive construction. However, the core of the building dates back to 1660. It has six axles facing the road. The window canopies are made in the Rococo style. The building is covered with a mansard roof into which dormers are inserted. The wings of the gate are carved. Baroque stairs, dating from 1732 and 1735, lead into the building from the gateway .

Inside the building there are original doors, stucco ceilings and chimneys .

In the yard of the property there is a large three-storey warehouse made of brick. It is the only baroque brick granary in Quedlinburg. The ground floor of the warehouse has cross vaults resting on pillars . The windows are made as a basket arch . A mid-house with a loading hatch and pulley system dates from the 18th century. There is a residential building on the east side of the courtyard. The half-timbered structure of the building dates back to the 17th century, solid parts from the 18th century. The west wing was built as a half-timbered building and also dates from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The building and the adjacent Salfeldtsche Palais were bought by the German Foundation for Monument Protection in 1997 and extensively renovated.
