The Korotkewitsch Plateau ( Russian Плато Короткевича Plato Korotkewitscha ) is a plateau of the ice sheet in the sector of the East Antarctic Kaiser Wilhelm II Land . It is located around 500 km south of the Russian Mirny station , halfway between the IGY Valley and the traverse between the Mirny and Vostok stations .
Russian scientists named her in 1998 after the geographer Evgeny Sergejewitsch Korotkewitsch (1918-1994), deputy director of the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute and head of the 5th Soviet Antarctic Expedition (1959-1991).
