Kosmikud is an Estonian alternative rock and punk band. In addition, the members are founders of the Rabarock rock festival .
history
The band, founded in 1999, was active for almost a year when the singer Taavi Pedriks (1971-2000) died. The album Ei Roosid reminds of the group's short existence in this formation ! ( German : "No roses!") from 2000.
The three remaining members, the guitarist Andres aka Alexander Vana, the drummer Kristo Rajasaare and the bassist Raivo Rätte aka Kõmmari, took a break, rehearsed and cast a large number of singers; including the guitarist of the band Claire's Birthday , Jaan Pehk, with whom a few concerts were given. Finally, the choice fell on the member of the ensemble Eriti Kurva Muusika Ansambel (German: Ensemble of particularly sad music ), Meelis Hainsoo (Hainz), born in 1972, who was a friend of the first singer. He joined the band in 2003.
Then the second album Kuidas tuli pimedus ... (German: "How the darkness came ...") was released.
Kosmikud was influenced musically by Joy Division , Nick Cave and Kino , among others .
