Kostadin Lengerov

Kostadin Lengerov (born August 10, 1976 in Plovdiv ( Bulgaria )) is an Austrian table tennis player . He is European youth champion and played in the German Bundesliga.

Kostadin Lengerov was born in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. In 1992 he moved to Austria and in 1993 took Austrian citizenship. In 1991 he won the cadet title at the European Youth Championships. Three years later he was again European junior champion in singles, in doubles with Vit Dolezel (ČSSR) and mixed with Martine Hubert (Belgium) he reached the final.

Adults

From 1995 to 2005 Kostadin Lengerov took part in eight world championships . With the Austrian team, he finished fifth in 2001 and sixth in 2004 . Several times during this period he was nominated for European championships . His greatest success here was silver in 2005 with the Austrian team.

Lengerov first played for the Austrian clubs Union Wolkersdorf (1993 to 1995) and GTV Hohenacker (1995/96). In 1996 he moved to the German Bundesliga for TTF Ochsenhausen . With its men's team, he became German champion and ETTU cup winner in 1997 . In 1999 he returned to Austria and joined the SVS Niederösterreich association. From 2000 to 2004 he was Austrian national champion and winner of the Super League four times in a row with Sport Union Wolkersdorf / SVS Niederösterreich, and twice he made it to the final of the Champions League with their men's team .

His best place in the ITTF world rankings was 63rd in August and September 2003.

Private

Lengerov is married to graphic designer Ekaterina Lengerova and has two children - a son and a daughter.
