Koszanowo (Brzeżno)

Koszanowo (German name Kussenow ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the municipality of Brzeżno ( Briesen ) in Świdwin ( Schivelbein ) district.

Geographical location

The street village of Koszanowo is four kilometers south of Świdwin on a side road to Rzepczyno ( Repzin ).

history

In 1337 " Cosenow " is mentioned in the Neumark land register as belonging to the Schivelbein region. In 1499, Elector Joachim and Margrave Albrecht in Schivelbein enfeoff Günther von Briesen with two hooves in Kussenow. In 1692 Hans Klemp leased a farm, which was bought in 1695 by Hans Zitzke, Freimann auf Kussenow. In the recession of 1819, von Puttkamer was a landowner, two farmers were already owners and six acquired half of their lands. In 1829 Postmaster Rhau was named as the landowner, and in 1851 Suffert.

In 1843 Kussenow had 135 inhabitants. In 1882 there is a brick factory, six farmers and one Büdner. In 1926, the road to Schivelbein was finally modernized.

In 1939 there were 200 people living in Kussenow. The estate and five farms operate on the 508 hectare community area. The Chamber of Agriculture praises Kussenow for keeping cattle.

Robert Schulz was mayor until 1939, followed by Splittgerber. With the municipalities of Briesen (now in Polish: Brzeżno), Venzlaffshagen (Więcław) and Völzkow (Wilczkowo), Kussenow formed the district and registry office district Briesen in the district court area of Schivelbein . Until 1932 it was part of the Schivelbein district, until it was opened up in the course of the district reform in the Belgard district (Persante) .

On March 6, 1945, Kussenow was occupied by Polish troops. The population was expelled , the village came into Polish hands and is now part of the Gmina Brzeżno in the - re-established - Schivelbein district .

With Völzkow (now Polish: Wilczkowo) Kussenow was connected to a parish until 1945. The church was in Völzkow. The community belonged with the parish Briesen and Venzlaffshagen to the parish Venzlaffshagen in the parish of Schivelbein of the church province of Pomerania in the Protestant church of the Old Prussian Union .

In 1940 the parish Völzkow-Kussenow had 386 parishioners out of 962 in the entire parish. The last German clergyman was Pastor Ernst Gauger.

Today Koszanowo belongs to the parish Koszalin ( Köslin ) in the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Polish Evangelical-Augsburg Church .
