history
The village was first mentioned in a document on April 4, 1253. On the north-western edge of the partial desert Köttendorf are the remains of a high medieval castle (Burg Köttendorf). It is a former high moth ( tower hill castle ). The heavily disturbed castle hill has a rounded-square shape, only 2 m high, and approx. 20 m in diameter. It is surrounded by a ditch with an exposed wall, especially in the east that has been removed, with the remains of another ditch. A bastion with connecting walls to the castle hill is said to have been built in 1683. In the aforementioned documentary first mention in 1253 an "R. Hermann von Cotendorf ”and in 1395“ Hof und Dorf Kotendorf ”mentioned. With the court the aristocratic seat should have been meant.
