Koyo Kouoh (* 1967 ) is one of Cameroon originating curator and cultural producer.

life and work

Koyo Kouoh was trained in banking and cultural management in Switzerland, France and the USA and made her first experiences as a curator.

She is the founder and director of the Raw Material Company in Dakar . From 1998 to 2002 she coordinated the cultural program at the Gorée Institute in Senegal. A specialist in photography, video and public installations , Kouoh has curated exhibitions in Brazil, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Senegal and the United States and has published numerous articles on contemporary art in Africa. She acted as advisor to the artistic direction of documenta 12 and was a member of the Golden Lion Jury at the 50th Venice Biennale in 2003.

Koyo Kouoh is a member of the search committee for documenta 14 (2017). In December 2018 she was presented as a member of the International Short Film Jury at the Berlinale 2019 . In 2019 she was appointed Chief Curator and Executive Director of the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in Cape Town, South Africa.
