Koyra Chiini (koyra ʧiini, literally “city language”; also West Songhay ) is one in Mali (there in Timbuktu and up the Niger River in Diré , Tonka , Goundam and Niafunké and in the Saharan city of Araouane ) of around 200,000 people (As of 1999, tendency rising) spoken Songhai language .
East of Timbuktu , Koyra Chiini is replaced relatively abruptly by Koyra Senni (or East Songhay ).
