Coronation of Mary in Belle-Église

The Coronation Window in the Catholic Church of St-Martin in Belle-Église , a French parish in the Oise department in the Hauts-de-France region , was created in the first third of the 13th century. The stained glass window was added to the list of listed buildings ( Base Palissy ) in France as Monument historique in 1912 .

Window no. 5 has an oval pane from the Gothic period from an unknown workshop. Mary is crowned by her son, both sit on a throne. Mary on the left bends slightly to Jesus , who is putting the crown on her. The scene is surrounded by a border with leaf decoration.

The long dresses of the two people are typical of stained glass around 1200 in northern France, so it can be assumed that the disk was made between 1210 and 1220.
