The Kröpeliner Tor Center is a shopping center in Rostock . It is located at the Kröpeliner Tor on Kröpeliner Straße . The center was opened on September 13, 2007, has almost 20,000 m² of retail space and 40 shops. This makes it the largest inner-city shopping center in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The building complex also includes offices and a fitness studio, as well as almost 400 parking spaces.
history
Construction work on the shopping center began at the beginning of 2006. The foundation stone was laid on June 29, 2006, and the topping-out ceremony took place on July 6, 2007.
architecture
The shopping center is characterized by bright, modern architecture with several large glass surfaces. The main area of the glass facade is arched towards Kröpeliner Straße . Inside there are atriums that extend over several floors. Outside there is the “Seven proud sisters kisses the sea” fountain by the sculptor Reinhard Dietrich from 1970, which previously stood in front of the Hotel Warnow.
