51.15

Krafft is an impact crater on the northwestern edge of the moon front . It lies north of the Cardanus crater on the western edge of the Oceanus Procellarum . The elongated structure of the Catena Krafft , known as the chain of craters ( Catena ), runs between Krafft and Cardanus . The crater wall has terracing and is moderately eroded. The interior is relatively flat , except for the secondary crater Krafft C.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German-Russian astronomer Wolfgang Ludwig Krafft .
