The Kneiding power plant is a small hydropower plant on the Kößlbach , in Kneiding , municipality of Schardenberg in Upper Austria , district of Schärding . It was built from 1919 to 1925 by Passauer Elektrizitäts-AG and has two Francis shaft turbines which, with a head of 9.8 meters, drove three asynchronous generators with an output of 130 kilowatts. At that time, around 0.35 GWh was generated per year. The power plant has been idle for a long time, renovations have been underway since 2001 and in November 2007 it was able to go back into operation after a week's accumulation.
