The Kozienice power plant is a coal-fired power plant near Kozienice in Poland that was put into operation between 1972 and 1979 and has a total output of 2820 MW .
The Kozienice power plant has three chimneys , two 200 meters high and one 300 meter high. The latter is one of the tallest free-standing structures in Poland. A special feature of the Kozienice power plant is that the high-voltage lines leaving the power plant are laid on roof racks on the power plant building.
On November 21, 2012 the foundation stone was laid for the construction of a new power plant block with a projected output of 1075 MW. Completion is scheduled for the second quarter of 2017 [obsolete] . When completed, it will be the largest coal -fired power plant unit in Europe.
