The Terga power plant ( French: Centrale électrique de Terga ) is a gas and steam combined cycle power plant in the province of Ain Temouchent , Algeria , which is located on the Mediterranean Sea about 12 km northwest of the provincial capital Ain Temouchent . The city of Oran is located approx. 60 km northeast of the power plant.

The power plant went into operation in June 2012. It is owned and operated by the Sharikat Kahraba Terga (SKT) as well. SKT is a joint venture between Sonelgaz (51%) and Sonatrach (49%).

With an installed capacity of 1,200  MW , Terga is one of the most powerful power plants in Algeria (as of July 2016). From June 2012 to October 2015 the power plant generated more than 22 billion kWh .

The power plant consists of three blocks that went into operation in June 2012. The following table gives an overview:

Others

The order value for the power plant was 1.3 billion euros. The electricity generated is discharged via a 400 kV line. 200 people are employed in the power plant.
