Wreath (unit)

Wreath was a Greek unit of mass (measure of weight) used in the fig trade . The Kalamat figs (from Kalamata , on the Peloponnese peninsula ) were packaged in barrels as wreath figs. For this purpose, the figs were threaded into a ring (wreath) on a reed stalk of one hundred each.
