Krasnapolle ( Byelorussian Краснаполле ) is an urban-type settlement in Krasnapolle Raion in Mahiljouskaya Woblasz in the Republic of Belarus . It is the administrative center of the Rajon. In 2016, the town had an estimate of 5844 inhabitants.

geography

The place is 37 km southeast of Mahiljou . To the northwest of the village is Slauharad , to the north of Tscherykau .

history

The area around Krasnapolle was contaminated as a result of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster . In 1996 a memorial for the victims of the accident was erected in the village.
