Krasnov is an impact crater on the extreme western edge of the front of the moon , at the southern end of the Montes Cordillera , south of the Eichstadt crater and southeast of Pettit . The crater is deep, with sharp edges, traces of concentric landslides can be seen on the inner slopes and the interior has a central mountain .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 after the Russian astronomer Alexander Wassiljewitsch Krasnow .
