The Krasnov Rocks ( Russian Скала Краснов Skala Krasnowa , Norwegian Krasnovhamaren , Krasnov hammer ) are a mountain range made up of rocky outcrops in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the Orvinfjella they rise 3 km south-southeast of the Dallmannberge .
Aerial photographs and measurements by the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) were used to map them. Scientists of a Soviet Antarctic expedition carried out from 1960 to 1961 named it after the Russian geographer and botanist Andrej Nikolajewitsch Krasnow (1862-1914). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated this designation into English in 1970.
