Kredenburg

The Kredenburg , also called Schlössel , is a moated castle in Maikammer - Alsterweiler (Hartmannstrasse 79-82) in the southern Weinstrasse district ( Rhineland-Palatinate ).

The castle was first mentioned in 1318 "an deme slosse" and was rebuilt around 1548 after being destroyed in the Peasants' War in 1525. The lords of Oberstein-Kredenburg and the bishops of Speyer are named as owners of the castle .

The castle complex was a rectangular 26 by 30 meter complex with residential buildings butting at right angles, the remains of which are now built up.
