The Krefelder Hütte is an Alpine Club hut of the Krefeld section of the German Alpine Club at 2295  m above sea level. A. Höhe am Roßkopf below the Kitzsteinhorn in the southwest of the Austrian state of Salzburg .

history

The Krefeld section of the German Alpine Club, founded in 1894, soon acquired a plot of land on the Roßkopf and in 1907 laid the foundation stone for the Krefelder Hütte, a spacious house made of natural stone, which was completed in 1909. During the First World War it was occupied by Austrian soldiers. After the Second World War it served the Americans as accommodation and was used as a ski school. In 1969 the hut was expanded and modernized. The connection to the power grid took place in 1987, the connection to the sewer network in 1998 via a 167 meter deep core drilling. In 2000 the large dormitories were converted into more modern 4-bed rooms.
