The Poppau war memorial is a listed war memorial in the village of Poppau in the municipality of Beetzendorf in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in the center of Poppau on Dorfstrasse , northeast of the Poppau village church .

The memorial commemorates the fallen from Poppau in the First and Second World Wars . It consists of a boulder that rests on a base made of field stones . The boulder is crowned by an iron cross made of stone . Originally, however, it was crowned with an eagle.

On the east side there is a plaque commemorating the victims of the First World War. A larger memorial plaque for the victims of the Second World War was later set up below at the foot of the base.

It reminds the dead of peace

The two columns are separated from each other by the representation of a sword.

The war memorial is listed in the local monument register under registration number 094 90293 as an architectural monument .
