The Tackhütte war memorial is located in the Giesenkirchen-Nord district in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ), Tackhütte.

The memorial was built in 1896. It was entered under No. T 018 on September 29, 2009 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

The war memorial is located on Tackhütte street between houses 38 and 40 in the Giesenkirchen district .

architecture

It is a tall, neo-Gothic, white-painted sandstone cross with a rectangular stepped substructure made of basalt lava, a massive middle section with a niche under a basket arch . The simple, gabled roof-shaped dome roof leads over to the profiled base of the cross. The towering cross shows a cast iron body . In the base is the inscription :

"O Maria hilf 1896",

at the base of the cross a second inscription:

“My Jesus Mercy”.

There is a public interest in the preservation and use of the property for reasons of local history and folklore. It is worth protecting as an architectural monument .
