Krissy Matthews (* 25. May 1992 ) is a British - Norwegian blues rock - guitarist and singer-songwriter .

biography

When he was three years old, his father took him on stage. Krissy Matthews got his first electric guitar on his eighth birthday. His father taught him plays by Hank Marvin and the Shadows . At the age of 11 he discovered the blues for himself. In 2004 he played John Mayall , whose concert he attended in Norway. Mayall took the 12-year-old on stage to play along on a few songs. He was then invited to interviews and was allowed to play at several Norwegian festivals and clubs.

In 2004 he founded his first band in England, Krissy's Blues Boys, in which his father Keith Matthews played as the second guitarist. After a year, the original quartet became a trio with Keith Matthews on bass; the drummers changed frequently. In 2005 they recorded their first CD Influences , with Mark Freeman on drums and Keith Matthews on bass. Initially only intended for sale during performances, Krissy Matthews got a recording deal in early 2006; the album was renamed Blues Boy .

In early 2007, the second album No Age Limit was recorded in Norway. In addition to Krissy Matthews, Keith Matthews played on bass, Freddy Schaal on drums, Mike Smith on keyboards, and as “special guests” Felix Peikli on clarinet and Silje Hagen as accompanist. The album was released in August 2007. In April 2008, Krissy Matthews left school at the age of 15 and has since devoted himself entirely to music.

In January 2009 the third album Allen in Reverse was created with Keith Matthews on bass, Chris Sharley on drums, Mike Smith on keyboards and Holly Petrie as accompanist. The album was released in September. In November there was a live session on BBC Radio 2, which was broadcast in February 2010. The fourth album Hit the Rock was recorded in Oxford in late 2010 and released in April 2011.

The fifth album Scenes from A Moving Window was created in 2013 with the line-up of Paul Jobson (keyboards), Aaron Spiers (bass) and Kevin Hickman (drums), with Nikki Loy and Keith Matthews as guests; Pete Brown was the producer . The publication did not take place until 2015.

Krissy Matthews has performed in numerous countries and with many leading figures in blues rock.
