Krista Federspiel

Krista Federspiel (* 1941 in Lower Austria , also Christa Federspiel) is an Austrian medical journalist and author with a doctorate in folklore .

Life

Krista Federspiel studied German, psychology, folklore and theater studies at the University of Vienna from 1959, graduating in 1966. This was followed by work as a freelance journalist and editor in several Austrian and German magazines and newspapers. She has also become known as a radio and television presenter. She was also a member of the Scientific Council of the Society for the Scientific Investigation of Parasciences (GWUP) and regularly publishes articles in their journal Der Skeptiker . She is a co-founder and active member of the Society for Critical Thinking , the Vienna regional group of the GWUP.

Her work focuses on social and women's policy, consumer protection , medicine and psychotherapy . Federspiel has become known as a critic of alternative medical procedures. For the Stiftung Warentest , she checked the effectiveness of alternative healing methods in her book "The Other Medicine". She lives in Vienna , is married and has three children.
