Kristian Bonnevie Bjerknes (born June 10, 1901 in Stockholm , Sweden , † November 28, 1981 in Bergen , Norway ) was a Norwegian architect, conservator and author.

Life

Kristian Bjerknes graduated from the Norwegian Technical University in 1924 . After completing his studies, he worked in an architecture firm in Bergen from 1925 to 1941 and finally at the Bergen Museum from 1942 until his retirement in 1971 .

Kristian Bjerkens published several writings on stave churches , such as about the Stave Church Urnes , stave church Kaupanger , Stave Church Borgund , stave Hopperstad and Fantoft Stave Church .

He received the Norwegian Architecture Prize ( Treprisen ) in 1975 for building villas in which he combined traditional with modern construction.
