The Krokisiusberg is a 472 m high mountain on South Georgia . It rises 1 km northeast of the Moltke harbor .
The naming was made by participants in the South Polar Expedition of the German Polar Commission (1882-1883) under the direction of Carl Schrader in the course of the First International Polar Year . It is named after Corvette Captain Ferdinand Krokisius (1842–1908), skipper of the SMS Marie , one of the two ships on the research trip .
