Krzysztof Fikiel

Krzysztof Fikiel (born February 3, 1958 in Rdziostów) is a former Polish basketball player .

career

Fikiel played at club level at Wislau Krakau, the 2.06 meter tall player could be used on the wing and in the inside position under the basket.

In 1979 he took part in the European Championship with the Polish national team, in 1980 he played at the Summer Olympics in Moscow and scored an average of 9.4 points per game during the tournament. Also in 1981, 1983, 1985 and 1987 Fikiel took part in European Championship tournaments, in 1985 he was the third best scorer of the Polish teams with 11.3 points per game. In total, he played 203 international matches for Poland, in which he scored 2,109 points.

With his wife, volleyball player Barbara Rabajczyk, and their two children Jan and Katharina , who later both pursued professional careers as basketball players, Fikiel went to Germany in 1989, where he first played in the regional league for SV Oberelchingen and in 1994 in the national basketball league rise.

After the end of his playing career, Fikiel stayed in Oberelchingen and became the caretaker of the local Brühlhalle.
