Krzysztof Minkowski

Krzysztof Minkowski (born May 19, 1980 in Szczecin ) is a Polish theater director.

Life

Minkowski first studied business administration in Frankfurt an der Oder , then theater studies and acting in Berlin, then theater directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . His diploma production The Heron Queen. A rap by Dorota Masłowska was shown at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin and at the Kaltstart Festival in Hamburg. Various engagements as a director in Germany, Poland, Denmark and Switzerland followed. He staged the Polish premiere of we are camera at the Nordharzer Städtebundtheater Disco Pigs by Enda Walsh and at the Teatr Norwida in Jelenia Góra . jasonmaterial by Fritz Kater in his own translation, which was invited to the 2008 premiere festival in Bydgoszcz. With Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters in Jelenia Gora, he won the theater award for the best production of the season and was invited to the Warsaw Theatertreffen. In 2010 he staged the Iliad of Homer with refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the home Neukölln in Berlin. Krzysztof Minkowski has been working as a director in Berlin penal institutions for years. At the Lucerne Theater, he performed Invasion by Jonas Hassen Khemiri (revived in the 2011/12 season) and Idioten , a play based on the film by Lars von Trier for a Swiss premiere. In the spring of 2013 he was artist in residence at the Momentum Theater in Odense and staged the world premiere of the novel Wer blinkzelt is afraid of the death of Knud Romer, which was enthusiastically received in the Danish press. This was followed by the productions Hamlet by William Shakespeare at Teatr Ludowy Krakau, Dare or Truth by Stephan Lack, Witch Hunt by Arthur Miller and Ronja Robber's Daughter by Astrid Lindgren at the Theater St. Gallen, Hamlet based on William Shakespeare at the Mannheim National Theater, Richard III by William Shakespeare at Theater Konstanz, the Danish premiere of Fräulein Smilla's Sensation for Snow by Peter Høeg at Teatret ved Sorte Hest and The Cocka Hola Company by Matias Faldbakken at Teater Sort / Hvid in Copenhagen. Tartuffe by Molière and Pest by Albert Camus at the Magdeburg Theater, Animal Farm by George Orwell and Hope by Stijn Devillé at the Saarland State Theater, O dwóch takich, co ukradli księżyc (The Two Moon Thieves ) and Moja prywatna Apokalipsa / My private Appocalypse at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin. In 2016 he was invited to the International Forum of the Berlin Theatertreffen. In addition to his directorial work, Krzysztof Minkowski teaches at the Music and Art Private University of the City of Vienna.
