Kayvon Zand (born January 8, 20th century in Wilmington ) is an American musician , performance artist , actor and male model of Iranian origin.

Life

Zand was born the son of Persian immigrants and grew up in North Carolina . He taught himself the piano at the age of three and began a career as a top male model in the UK and USA after high school. He worked with the Iranian designer Nima Benoud, among others.

After the end of his modeling career, he played in New York as a theater actor on Broadway and began to sing and put on New Burlesque shows. Zand designed his own costumes and staged imaginative stage choreographies with his ensemble The Zand Collective. In the variety theater The Box he soon became a permanent organizer with a weekly stage show. In the House of Yes theater in Brooklyn , he played the role of Helicon in the play Caligula Maximus by Alfred Preisser and Randy Weiner in the production of the same name.

Through his appearances he became known in the queer and gay and lesbian scene; In 2011 he was invited to Vienna for a concert at the Life Ball . In 2006 he played a short role as a male model in the film The Devil Wears Prada , mediated by Patricia Field . In the film Starrbooty of drag queen RuPaul , he played in 2007 the role of a terrorist. In 2012 he starred in a commercial for Volkswagen . The director of the music video for his single One Way Flight led Mike Ruiz . Kayvon Zand lives in New York.
