The Kuhn Group , headquartered in Eugendorf near Salzburg, is an Austrian mechanical engineering company .
The company is divided into the strategic areas of construction machinery , loading technology and the production of machine tools . All three areas act organizationally and operationally independently of one another and are organized both in Austria and internationally by separate companies under the umbrella of Kuhn Holding GmbH. The company with foreign subsidiaries in the Czech Republic , Slovakia , Hungary , Croatia , Bosnia , Slovenia , Poland , Switzerland and Germany serves the construction, transport, warehouse and logistics industries. The Kuhn Group operates 49 branches and six production sites and employs around 1,600 people. The group's turnover was 649 million euros from April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019.
history
Günter Kuhn founded the company "Kuhn Baumaschinen" in 1973 in Eugendorf near Salzburg. In 1986 "Kuhn Ladetechnik" was founded and the general agency for Palfinger cranes and Mitsubishi forklifts was taken over. With Kuhn KFT in Budapest , the first foreign branch was founded in 1990. In 1994 he took over the general agency for construction machinery of the Komatsu brand .
The two sons of the company founder, Andreas and Stefan Kuhn, started operations in 2001 .
In 2012, Kuhn took over the machine tool manufacturer, the Emco Group from the insolvent A-Tec Group .
