Cultural landscapes in North Rhine-Westphalia
The list of cultural landscapes in North Rhine-Westphalia includes all of the cultural landscapes defined by the Rhineland Regional Council and the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Council . These are intended, among other things, in § 2 (2) no. 13 Spatial Planning Act to implement goals set by the Federal Republic of Germany in national planning. There it says “The historical and cultural connections as well as the regional togetherness are to be preserved. The developed cultural landscapes are to be preserved in their formative characteristics as well as with their cultural and natural monuments ”. A special, legally binding protection status is not associated with this.
The entire grown cultural landscape of North Rhine-Westphalia is divided into 32 cultural landscapes
