Kulturpolitische Mitteilungen (KuMi), subtitled “ Zeitschrift für Kulturpolitik” of the Kulturpolitische Gesellschaft , is a quarterly magazine ( ISSN  0722-4591 ) of the Kulturpolitische Gesellschaft e. V. (Bonn), the nationwide association of people interested in and committed to cultural politics, founded in 1976. They are published by the board of the Kulturpolitische Gesellschaft (President Tobias J. Knoblich ) and are published by the Kulturpolitische Gesellschaft (currently with issue 166 IV / 2019: Neue Methods and formats. Socio-project work ); The editor-in-chief is Henning Mohr, succeeding Norbert Sievers.

Profile of the magazine

The cultural-political communications are particularly devoted to current and fundamental cultural-political and socio-political issues. Each issue is dedicated to a thematic focus, such as cultural policy & creative industries (Issue IV / 2012 No. 139), the subjects of city.Culture.Future. In memory of Bernd Wagner (Book III / 2012 No. 138), Future Europe - Creative Europe (Book I / 2012, No. 136), Studies and Labor Market Culture (Book IV / 2011, No. 135), Cultural Policy in the Digital Society (Issue III / 2011), Art as Goods // Forty Years (Issue II / 2016, No. 153) or Cultural Real Estate (Issue III / 2016, No. 154).

Most rubrics appear regularly, some on demand. Theses as well as new projects and developments are put up for discussion in the Current Cultural Policy section . Studies in culture are dedicated to universities with cultural / musical courses, the debate picks up on a current social or cultural-political issue and a look at developments in neighboring countries is taken. The category cultural management and cultural studies reports on the broad field of the creative industries , presents studies and investigations such as visitor surveys in cultural institutions. Full text documents or papers also are presented. Projects - Initiatives presents new, groundbreaking projects not only in Germany. New cultural and socio-political publications take up a lot of space. In the category reviews , references and bibliography, important new publications are reviewed in detail and critically. The magazine review discusses cultural studies and cultural or socio-political magazine editions in detail (such as terra cognita, the Swiss magazine on integration and migration or the magazine for cultural studies ). A current news section, which also includes events and in particular meetings and congresses, rounds off the reporting. The pinboard with the sections cultural policy international , cultural policy in Europe , country cultural policy , local cultural policy , literature , music , art , culture and economy , media , women's culture , interculture , cultural qualification and socioculture , prizes / tenders , and pure culture summarizes news. Thus the concept of culture is taken very broadly.

In addition to state ministers of culture, the authors include cultural politicians, cultural workers, cultural managers, supporters of culture, specialist authors and journalists, heads / directors of cultural institutions or projects as well as scientists from the fields of culture, art, society and sociology. The communications and the association that issues it are funded by the Ministry for Family, Children, Youth, Culture and Sport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .
